The calculator looks up a published price range for your format and audience size. It does not apply niche or engagement multipliers, because we have no sourced figure for them. Every constant below is named with its source. For what to do with the number, see how much to charge for a sponsorship.
Newsletter
Your list size picks one row of the table in Book a Sponsor's newsletter sponsorship rates: under 5,000, 5,000 to 19,999, 20,000 to 49,999, 50,000 to 99,999, or 100,000 or more subscribers. The main-slot median and the 25th to 75th percentile range for that row are shown as printed. The other placements are the row's main-slot median times the median share of the main slot: 59% for a second slot, 40% for a classified or text ad and 2.31 for a dedicated send. The price per 1,000 subscribers is the median price ÷ (your subscribers ÷ 1,000). Because the lookup is by row, the price steps up at each row boundary, so a list near a boundary should read both rows.
Source: Book a Sponsor's read of 321 newsletters that print a main-slot price and a list of 500 or more subscribers, 29 September 2026. The top two rows hold only 41 and 40 newsletters, so read their medians as rough. 259 of the 321 prices came from Passionfroot storefronts, and newsletters that sell by quote publish no price, so the figures lean toward storefront sellers. Lists under 500 subscribers are below the data, so the calculator uses the lowest row and says so.
Podcast
Price = downloads in the first 30 days of a new episode ÷ 1,000 × CPM. Libsyn Ads lists baked-in host-read ads at $24 to $26 per 1,000 downloads for a 60-second spot and $18 to $22 for a 30-second spot (Libsyn Ads' 2026 podcast advertising guide, read 2 October 2026). Acast lists host-read sponsorships on individual shows at $25 to $40 per 1,000 listens (Acast's podcast advertising cost guide, titled for 2026, read 2 October 2026).
YouTube
Price = average views ÷ 1,000 × CPM. Descript says that as of early 2025 CPMs often range from $5 to $30 per 1,000 views, with highly specialized channels charging more (Descript's YouTube sponsorship guide, read 2 October 2026).
Instagram and TikTok
Your follower count picks a tier, and the calculator shows impact.com's US average per post for that tier, taken from rate cards its influencer programs team collected (impact.com's influencer rate guide, published 19 May 2025, updated 11 August 2025). impact.com lists the same ranges for Instagram posts and TikTok videos. The calculator also shows the survey figure from Sprout Social's 2025 Influencer Marketing Report, that half of influencers charge $250 to $1,000 per post (Sprout Social's influencer marketing statistics, published 29 April 2026). The two sources disagree, so read both as ranges.
| Tier (impact.com's labels) | Instagram post or TikTok video |
|---|---|
| Nano, under 15,000 followers | $500 to $2,000 |
| Micro, 15,000 to 75,000 followers | $2,000 to $8,000 |
| Mid-tier, 75,000 to 250,000 followers | $8,000 to $20,000 |
| Macro, 250,000 to 1 million followers | $20,000 to $45,000 |
| Mega or celebrity, over 1 million followers | $45,000 and up |
At a tier boundary, such as exactly 15,000 followers, the calculator uses the higher tier. These are list prices and published ranges, not offers. Your actual rate depends on your past results, your audience and what you negotiate. For packages and multi-placement deals, see sponsorship packages and how to price them.
